Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the ARP app on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, and the related website at arpaudio.app. The short version: ARP is yours to use on the devices you own, audio stays on your devices, Premium is a one-time purchase handled by Apple, and we are not collecting anything. A native Mac app is in development and is not on the Mac App Store yet.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using ARP, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ARP. The App Store's own terms apply to the download and the transaction; these terms govern your use of the app itself.
2. Platforms
ARP ships today on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Mac is not on the Mac App Store yet.
- iPhone and iPad — one iOS app, built from
App/. iPad runs the iPhone app at iPad resolution. App Store Connect app id6758187060, bundleARP.ARP. - Apple Watch — a watchOS companion built from
ARPWatch/. The Watch app is a remote control for the iPhone; it does not process audio. - Lock Screen / Dynamic Island — Live Activity (during enhancement) and widget extensions ship inside the iOS bundle.
- Mac — a native macOS app exists in the product, but it is not currently available on the Mac App Store. Buying Premium on iPhone or iPad does not unlock Mac until Universal Purchase ships.
Premium uses product ID ARP.ARP.premium. Today that purchase unlocks Premium on the iOS app (iPhone, iPad, and the Watch remote). It does not unlock Mac.
3. License
ARP grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for personal and commercial use of your own audio. You may not redistribute the app, the bundled RNNoise model, or the audio engine.
You retain all rights to the audio files you import. ARP does not claim any ownership or licence over your inputs or your exports. The enhanced file is yours; delete the app and the originals are still where you put them.
4. Your audio
All audio processing runs on the device you imported the file on. Your audio is not transmitted to any server by ARP. There is no cloud copy. Import sources in the iOS app are the Files app (including iCloud Drive) and the system Music library. Import sources in the Mac app are the user-selected file scope and read-only Music library access.
You are responsible for the audio you import. ARP will not enhance content you do not have the right to use, and the licence above does not grant you any new rights over third-party audio.
5. Free credits
The free tier of ARP includes 10 enhancement credits per device. Each enhancement — running RNNoise plus the DSP chain on a track — consumes one credit. Premium is unlimited. The free counter is stored locally in UserDefaults under the key enhancementCreditsRemaining.
Free credits are per-device, not per-account. Deleting and reinstalling the app resets the counter on iOS in a way Apple permits; do not rely on that as a feature.
6. ARP Premium
ARP Premium is sold as a single non-consumable in-app purchase. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription. The product ID is ARP.ARP.premium.
Premium unlocks:
- Unlimited AI enhancements — the 10-credit free cap is removed.
- 24-bit WAV export — lossless, broadcast format.
- 24-bit AIFF export — lossless, uncompressed.
M4A (AAC) export is free for everyone. The enhancement engine and the 10-band EQ are also free, including the intensity control; Premium does not unlock extra processing modes.
The default list price in the StoreKit configuration is 6.99 (USD). Apple may surface a region-localised price at the point of purchase. We do not have a promotional code, discount, or trial system at the moment.
7. Refunds
Refunds are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com or through the App Store app. ARP cannot issue refunds directly and will not process them outside of Apple.
Apple may grant or decline the refund at its discretion. Because Premium is a non-consumable, the App Store rules on refund eligibility apply; a refund may revoke the entitlement and downgrade your install to the free tier.
8. StoreKit and the App Store
ARP uses Apple's StoreKit 2 framework. Apple is the merchant of record. ARP receives the transaction record (product, price, date) so it can unlock Premium features, but does not receive your Apple ID, payment instrument, or billing address. Apple's terms at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes apply to the purchase itself.
The App Store product identifier is id6758187060 (iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch). Mac is not part of this listing yet.
9. Privacy
The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms. The privacy manifest Apple reviews (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) declares zero data collected and no tracking. If the privacy manifest ever changes, the Privacy Policy will be updated and a notice will appear in the app.
10. Intellectual property
ARP, the audio engine, the bundled RNNoise model, the iOS / Mac / Watch code, the Stitch design system, the website copy and assets, and the ARP trademarks are owned by Matthew Worner or are used under licence. You may not redistribute, decompile (beyond what applicable law allows), or commercially resell the app or its components.
You retain all rights to the audio you import and export. See §4.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes — a new data flow, a new charge model, a change in licence scope — will be surfaced in the app and bumped at the top of this page. Editorial changes that don't change the substance won't be announced. Your continued use of ARP after a material change is your acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Termination
You can stop using ARP at any time by deleting the app. We can stop offering ARP at any time, with or without notice; if we do, we will not have access to your library or your audio, and Apple will manage any refund through the App Store.
We may suspend or revoke access to ARP Premium if Apple's refund system reports a successful refund. That suspension is automatic and not a sanction.
13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.
IN NO EVENT SHALL ARP, MATTHEW WORNER, OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM OR ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OR PERFORMANCE OF THE APP.
The audio engine is good. It is not perfect. It is the kind of tool that helps with hiss, hum, and broadband noise on real-world recordings; it is not a forensic restoration lab, and it is not a substitute for a mastering engineer. Use your judgement.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Nothing in this section limits any consumer-protection law that applies in your jurisdiction.
If you are a New Zealand consumer, you may have non-excludable rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
15. Contact
Questions, complaints, and bug reports go to matthew.worner@me.com. We are a one-person operation; the inbox is read and answered.
